Everyone Else is a Returnee – Chapter 139: Not Me But My Son?! – 7

When Kang MiRae opened her eyes again, she was in an Abandoned World.

“Hi, kind noona!”

In front of her eyes was a young child that had an adorable outlook, he looked rather familiar. Mir was looking at her with his two round eyes, when Kang MiRae came to herself, she recognized him and greeted him.

“Hello, Mir.”

Yumir, the monster that Yu IlHan raises, and probably cherishes too much. And also, the one that looked like Ilhan too much. However, when she looked at him for a long time, he spoke while turning his head around as if embarrassed.

“I think that noona is gonna die soon.”
“Ugu, hagu, hugu…….!”
“Huh? Ah!”

Kang MiRae finally realized that she was embracing Na YuNa tightly. She had dragged her towards herself due to the fear of getting separated while being transported through the gate, but it seemed that she had lost her consciousness on her way here.
And that was probably also why Na YuNa was suffering too, because she was grabbing onto her too tightly.

“Cough, cough cough……..”

When Kang MiRae let go, Na YuNa coughed as she beat her ample chest. Kang MiRae felt a little angry at her blatant show of femininity, but Yumir looked at Na YuNa’s chest area as if curious. That figure was so cute that she felt better.

“Na YuNa, are you alright?”
“My heart wavered thanks to MiRae’s violent cuddle. I even thought that it would be fine to die like that!”
“Shut up.”

Kang MiRae pushed Na YuNa aside and looked at the surroundings. Surprisingly, it was a forest with a dense amount of trees.

“You should have realized it the moment ape like monsters came out of the gate.”
“Don’t read my thoughts.”

There were no monsters in the surroundings. No, to be exact, there were no enemy monsters around. Including allies, there were: Mir, four wolves that were watching the perimeter, and four ‘people’ who were clearly armed with Yu IlHan-made equipment.

“How did it become like this?”
[Mir hid everyone with his concealment and brought you here. It really is an absurd talent.] (Erta)

Oh, and one more. There was a mini-sized angel that looked to be around 15 cm tall at most. It was Erta, the delivery girl that came to her on Yu IlHan’s request.
Na YuNa, who also found her, asked curiously.

“Angel-niiim, do you know where Feyta iiiis?”
[I know very well. I killed her.] (Erta)

Answered Erta in kind.

[That bitch was the traitor in Heaven’s Army that sucked up to the Army of Brilliant Light. The reason you were kidnapped was also due to that bitch’s help, but you were done in like a fool without knowing a thing, weren’t you?] (Erta)

Replied Na YuNa in liveliness before becoming somewhat dejected.

“I thought she was a kind kid……”
“I was instead worried that you trusted that angel too easily.”

Unlike her naive and air-headed appearance, Na YuNa didn’t trust in others that easily. Due to her innate beauty, she had met with blatant greed and lust from her childhood. If it wasn’t for her family, she wouldn’t have been able to grow up while remaining purely.

However, she had believed in Feyta. Despite it being Kang MiRae, who knew her better than anyone else, she found it hard to believe.

“But she’s an angel.”

Was Na YuNa’s answer. Kang MiRae sighed, and Erta smiled bitterly.

[I apologize for not being able to provide you with unconditional trust. Humans are supposed to trust in the angels, and angels are suppose to deliver on the trust…… this is the natural relationship, but from some time ago, it’s been going wrong.] (Erta)

Na YuNa looked towards Erta before whispering to Kang MiRae with a worried tone.

“Can I believe in this angel-nim?”
“You can.”

Kang MiRae said in a confident voice.

“This angel is sent by IlHa…… Mr. Yu IlHan.”

Na YuNa looked at Kang MiRae with inexplicable eyes, and Kang MiRae blushed a little and avoided her gaze. Erta thought that they got along nicely while watching the two.

[If you came to yourself, then let’s move. The gate has closed, and this world was isolated. You will not be able to go back to the worlds you were connected to. As such, we need to hold out until we can open the gate back to Earth.] (Erta)
“When can we do that?”

Kang MiRae asked while palming her forehead after confirming that she could indeed not move to the world she was connected to. Erta replied in a bright voice.

[There are two problems. First, it is that this world is completely isolated from other worlds, and secondly, it is extremely hard to open a path back to Earth even if it weren’t.] (Erta)
“I’ll do anything that I can do. What can we do in order to solve those problems?”
[We cannot do anything about the first problem with our power. If there is a definite fact, it is that this world will not stay like this forever. As such, we need to solve the second problem for the time being….the first problem will naturally resolve itself] (Erta)

Kang MiRae’s vision darkened due to those words. They had to wait an indefinite amount of time until this world was no longer isolated? A lot of things would have happened to Earth by then! Although Kang HaJin was left on the other side, it would be hard for him alone to endure in the changing Earth.

Moreover, if they couldn’t go back for so long, how could she, with that person…

“I think I know.”

Just as a certain person’s face was about to be drawn inside Kang MiRae’s head, The innate genius at magic, Yumir, shouted with his hand raised.

Kang MiRae became slightly afraid when hearing Yumir saying that with a bright smile. However, the four armed people that stayed silent until now, shouted in exclamation.

“As expected of the Imperial Prince.”
“Ah, I’m feeling reassured now. It’s as if I’m with His Majesty himself.”
“It’s us who need to protect the Imperial Prince. Do you wanna all die?”

It seemed that they were hired in order to protect Yumir. Although she didn’t know why they were treating Yu IlHan’s family like royalty….. Kang MiRae confirmed with Erta.

“So, what is the method?”
[Massacre. Mir got it right.] (Erta)
“Wow. Mir is so smart.”

While Na YuNa and Yumir exchanged similar smiles, Kang MiRae, the only unconvinced one here, shouted from the bottom of her heart. Of course, Erta explained in kind.

[As this is an Abandoned World, the angels belonging to the Heaven’s Army cannot use their powers here. However, if we are given an enough number of magic stones, I can create a gate activation magic formation.] (Erta)
“And how many do you mean by ‘enough number of magic stones’?”
[Using level 130 3rd classes as the standard, around 100 thousand.] (Erta)

Really, it seemed that they needed to conduct a massacre on the scale of the entire world!

“Fuu….. Hap.”

Kang MiRae sighed due to the absurd scale of the magic, before coming to herself and tapping on her own cheeks. It was too early to despair. As long as they had the hope to go back to Earth, she couldn’t stay still.

Yumir was staring at her. Kang MiRae finally remembered that Yumir was grabbing on to her as she was swept into the gate. He, had followed her here in worry. Even though it was unknown whether they could go back or not.

Thinking back, if it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t even have known the fact that they were trying to kidnap Na YuNa, and would have been defeated after they entered the gate. It was probably due to that reason that Na YuNa was also off guard against him.

“Mir, thank you.”

Yumir nodded. Then smiled nonchalantly. Even though the current situation was quite serious, Kang MIRae ended up smiling with him. She thought how good it would be if she had a little brother like him.

With a lightened heart, she opened her mouth.

“Mir, we can go back, right?”

Yumir nodded confidently and said this. Perhaps Kang MiRae would never forget these words in her lifetime.

“It’s much easier compared to what my dad did! So we can do it!”

And like that, a party comprised of: two humans, four wolves, one dragon, and one angel, started a worldwide hunt.

The first half a year was the hardest. As Yumir’s concealment was not yet perfect, they were sometimes found by monsters, and when they were, they had to desperately clean up those monsters and leave that place as soon as possible. That, repeated countless times within the first half a year.

As the entire world was their enemy, there was no place they could rest easy in. Battle was everyday life, and the longest rest they had amounted to 3 hours.
However, no one complained. All people other than Yumir had experienced their own hell to grow up, and as Yumir had the Resting skill from birth, his condition was the greatest among them all.

Battle continued endlessly. Fortunately, their job distributions were very balanced, and they could win against both a small force of elites, and a large amount of monsters.

Phiria, with her thief-class, took charge of scouting, and the four wolves with the 4th class Flemir at their head, and Mirey who wielded a shield and a greatsword, along with Jirl blocked the monsters at the front, and Pate, who wielded the bow, would control.

Kang MiRae would receive protection from them and clean the battlefield up with strong magic completed with a lot of time, and Na YuNa would strengthen everyone as the priestess.

The greatest fortune was that they had brought a spatial expansion bag from Kang MiRae’s clan. Inside it was full of mana potions which MiRae had acquired from negotiations and threats with numerous alchemy guilds in the world she went to. It wasn’t just ‘full’, it made one wonder if she stole their entire supply!

The group grew rapidly. Among them, Yumir achieved 3rd class the fastest among the 2nd class members, and grew up to look like an 11 year-old from a 7 year-old. The others blessed his growth with a complex mind comprising both happiness and sadness.

“It’s fine since he’s still cute. Although I’ll be a little sad if he grows anymore, it’s still fine since he’s cute.”

Everyone agreed with Na YuNa’s words. He wasn’t cute because he was young, he was cute because he was Yumir!

Although Yumir was still cute after the growth, his draconic side appeared more along with his class acquisition, and grew stronger. Especially, like his class name, his concealment skills and magic skills were enhanced, and it looked like he was catching up to Yu IlHan.
Erta was tearfully happy to see that, and was shocked to find out then, that she missed Yu IlHan quite dearly.

Ericia acquired her 3rd class after Yumir, and acquired a stronger blessing ability and the overall strength of the wolfkin rose, with the elves achieving 3rd class a little after her. Na YuNa and Kang MiRae also acquired their 3rd classes with no difficulty after some time.
That, took them half a year. There was no need for countless years of harsh training or whatnot. Just suffering in an environment with enemies everywhere would naturally make them into 3rd class beings!

The stronger they got, the stronger Yu IlHan’s equipment got, and some of them became sturdier and stronger even though they didn’t undergo any repairs. They grew along with the record of the user!

However, they couldn’t adapt easily in the Abandoned World just because they became 3rd classes.
The monsters under Destruction Demon Army went around in tens of thousands in order to kidnap Na YuNa, and the group had to undergo countless guerilla warfare until they could massacre such a group. When another group came as reinforcements, they almost despaired.

A hardcore life with 10 minutes of sleep was the basics. Yumir had to try his best in order to include all of his companions into his concealment, and his innate talent along with the harsh environment rapidly raised his concealment skill.

However, a miracle occurred at the point one and a half years passed.

[The skill, Concealment, has become level 90! You are now able to conceal yourself faster and more secretively.]
[You have earned the title, ‘Big and wide shadow’. The range of concealment applied to the allies become wider, and the effect rises as well. The effect rises if an ally has a concealment-class ability.]

Yumir’s new title reversed the situation. As his concealment developed in a way to cover both himself and his party members, he had acquired a title that enhanced such an ability, and that, made the group into attackers from escapees!

To describe Yumir and co after the title, it could be said that a group of inferior Yu IlHan version 2.0s were going around. The monsters had to shiver in fear of being assaulted at any time, and Yumir and co could leisurely conceal themselves after an all out attack.

Of course, it didn’t work so well against 4th class beings, but by that time, they could kill a 4th class being by combining their strength, so it wasn’t that big of a problem. This was excluding the 4th class Flemir!
In other words, Yumir’s party could now fight against two 4th class beings on equal footing.

Did this mean that all 4th class monsters went around in threes or more? Unfortunately, not all monsters were as clever as dragons.

There were less than 100 4th class beings in this world, and they had very large egos, and unlike the dragons, never grouped with other 4th classes. As such, they all vaporized into experience points for Yumir and co, one after the other.

After 2 years passed since their entry into this Abandoned World, their group brought disaster to this world.

Excluding Flemir and two third class wolves that came here, everyone’s level averaged out at 130, and the monsters wished for them to leave, but the group hunted monsters even more proactively.

The Destruction Demon Army and the Army of Brilliant Light beings residing in that world ended up completely giving up. The fact that higher existences couldn’t use their powers applied to them as well.
In the first place, they thought that it would be enough with 4th class monsters, but the presence of Yumir had made everything go wrong. Yes, everything was doomed, completely, and perfectly.

Now, they only wanted to return to their camps. They also couldn’t return because the world was closed. However, as the world was still tightly closed, they could only wait obediently, and in that meanwhile, Yumir and co caused chaos everywhere and were pulling out the roots of monsters from this Abandoned World.

When 9 months passed, the world finally exited its isolation and acquired a possibility to be connected to another world.

The Destruction Demon Army and the Army of Brilliant Light exited first, and Yumir’s group also succeeded in opening a magic formation to go back to Earth by consuming magic stones.

“What do we do, what if Korea already met its doom? Can we really adapt well?”
“What are you worried about when Mr. Yu IlHan is there? Moreover, not to mention Korea, there should be no one who levelled up as fast as us, noooo?”
“That’s true, but…..”

Kang MIRae couldn’t stay still now that they were actually returning, but Na YuNa calmed her down with her ever-relaxed attitude.

Other than that, Flemir and the elite wolves sighed in relief as they had managed to protected Ericia safely, while Ericia and the elves also sighed in relief that they had protected Yumir.
Erta was purely happy that she could go back to Earth and meet Yu IlHan, and Yumir was happy, thinking that he had caught up to his father a little.

“Let’s go see dad!”
“Yeah, let’s.”

Like how they first came to this Abandoned World, Yumir lead everyone.
The group jumped into the gate with chaotic minds including worry and joy, and returned to Earth.

Only 10 days had passed on Earth.

Author’s notes

  1. Like father, like son.
  2. 10 days? what happened?
  3. Ertawagon anywhere.
  4. I thought about writing three or four chapters about Mir’s actions, but compressed it into one as this story is supposed to write about the chronicles of Yu IlHan. If this was an ordinary story, Yumir or Kang MiRae should have been the protagonist….
  5. No matter how OP Mir is, he can’t break through level 100 in one day! I was surprised to see so many people accept that fact….
  6. Thanks for the wait, countdown to 2nd Great Cataclysm!

Translator’s notes
Guess how many days they spent in another world.

Add in Ilhans Hour Glass. It could charge stupidly fast there and give them an extra 2 months every time… O.o. DBZ training grounds in the DBZ training grounds, lol.

  1. Deuxz

And this type of crap, where all the side characters make a lot of main characters incredibly hard work and thousand years of stuck in time, for nothing, is when i drop a novel.

    1. James

No, that’s level up arena, Yu llHan did something that it needs 1000 years to do. They hunted for 2 years, but he did it for a 1000 years along with reading, practicing, and being tended by an angel

    2. notfluent

Yah but this was bad from the very start but peoples got hyped because the setting was a bit original.
author comment.4 funny the author induce that his story is not ordinary.

      1. Jonathan Hurd

I really gotta ask. If you dislike the story why are you even here and reading it, lol. I’m not saying you are wrong to dislike it. Just curious why waste your time when there are so many stories out to read or things to do if you don’t enjoy reading this one.

        1. notfluent

Because I have far too much time and I read a lot of bad stuff in English, I am not very exigent when it’s not in french.
But more profoundly I got screwed, I was getting bored of xianxia and I discovered Korean stuff, then that one seemed better than average but only recently with hindsight, I see how bad it is.
Not trying to judge other either 90% of what I read is full of shit but this one disappoints me more because of its general direction than it’s quality.

    3. Jonathan Hurd

I like that your avatar picture is Goku, lol. The epitome of training arcs where side characters gain power to fight big baddies, lol.

I would also point out that sure they have developed to the point of fighting a fourth class with Yumir, four elves, Ericia and three wolves, Na Yuna, and Kang MiRae. Ilhan just went to another world and massacred 6 fourth classes by himself.

Yumir and the rest needed this power boost. Otherwise they would be completely useless trying to help Ilhan. They finally have gotten to the point of being fighting power for him.

Also as James pointed out. Yumir and Co’s training time was mainly just combat oriented. They learned to fight as a group and got Exp. Ilhans 1000 years he started from nothing and built himself up skills and a foundation. Yumir and the rest had the foundation thanks to all of Ilhan’s previous effort. They needed combat to fully realize what they could do.

  2. dong

this is really stupid, all of them in a party killed only 100 4th classes and numerous 3rd classes and all became lv 130 while han killed thousands of fourth classes yet only achieved that low of a level? this is clearly really stupid

      1. Argos Yesu

Party distribution (there are 4 + 4 + 2 + 1 getting experience) along with one of the OP Fourth Class wolf taking his own personal share. It’s not like how stupidly slow Ilhan LVLed with his soloing. I mean, there’s a reason to get pissed at how slow ‘he’ levels, not at how slow ‘they’ level.

      2. randos

This is a free stories from the web
If you want the smart stuff, go spend monies to buy an award winning novel from writter with paid editorial guy

    1. armanak

ilhan is something like a monster that’s why it’s hard for him to level up because of his monster class ability, usually when you level up you need to fight someone who is much stronger than you and for ilhan the 3rd class became something like a mob of 1st classes? (especially after he killed all the dragons)

i think that in the previous chapters it is said that just because you have the same class doesn’t mean that you are equal, there is still the gap of ability

      1. New_guy

First of all this was never mentioned so you’re making it up. And even if its true, Yumir who is basically as naturally strong or stronger than Illhan this shouldnt apply. Lets be honest its just bullshit plot armor.

    2. Syahmuda

Yes it is. Isnt the quest already hard enough to make the other people despair. In normal game, no matter what job you’re, the exp requirement to level up is still same. But being MC is different, since the job he take is op. To balance(bullshjt) it, exp, quest, penalty is become more difficult than common job.

    3. James

He’s different. Everyone gets piddly paddly 1 or 3 stat increases, Yu llHan gets 5 permanently. It’s harder for him, because he’s stronger in terms of stats than levels.

Right now, a group of 12 is having a blast while trying to kill 10s of thousands of monsters. Yu llHan on the other hand could of done it without a sweat. But this is a “Must Need” training ground for the 12, without it, Yu llHan would still be dotting parent.

    4. OP reader

As far as I know, he only killed a few 4th classes, I think no more than 15 altogether. All the others were 3rd class, and the difference in xp between them is huge – a few million vs hundreds of billions..

    5. Jonathan Hurd

The biggest things I would say is that there were only 1,233 4th classes on Dareu so not thousands. More like a thousand. The other thing is that Illhan killed half the 45,988 third class dragons to reach level 100. The last part is the exp requirements jump up exponentially each level.

The other thing to remember is that while quality is nice. Quantity seems to get you so much more a lot of the time. A lot of the time 4th classes get you some nice exp numbers, but often times that number could be made up with five, ten, maybe in extreme cases twenty third classes.

The chapter clearly states that the monsters went around in groups of 10,000’s to hunt Yumir and Co. That to me means there is way more third classes to hunt than Ilhan was dealing with on Dareu. They also had three years of fighting and fought everything on the world. Ilhan only fought Dragons and Dragonkin.

In the end the author never tells us how many they killed to get their current levels. He also didn’t tell use the specific levels, but we can guess a few things from what was written in the story. This is a whole world of monsters. They have monsters going around in groups of ten thousand. YuMir and co have been fighting none stop for three whole years.
If they couldn’t get at least 130 that would be some amazingly slow leveling.

  3. Sneezy

And like that, a party comprised of: two humans, four wolves, one dragon, and one angel, started a worldwide hunt.

Seems the elves have an even more potent hide then Il Han has. Even the author or translator has lost them.

  4. New_guy

Wow. Seriously? Im disappointed. I understand that MCs and the rest of the characters are getting more and more apart in strength but to use something like this to blatantly hike their power to catch up with the MC is disappointing. And the author acting as if this is normal means that it will probably keep happening in the future too. Thats sad as that completely ruins the point of the MC being OP which is probably the only fact thats keeping this story interesting.

    1. frenzy85

Author has been bullshitting with the numbers for a long time now…
Have a look at the numbers from Dareu.

      Lvl 87 -> 100 required approx 1.4 trillion exp.
      Lvl 100 -> 134 required approx 2.4 trillion exp.

      13 levels = 1.4 trillion as 2nd class
      34 levels = 2.4 trillion as 3rd class

In Dareu, Ilhan fought against 45,988 dragonkin, of which 1233 are 4th class. Some became allies, but that was a minority.
So there are 44,755 3rd class.
800 of them are just over lv 200
100 of them are only around lv 210
      333 are over lv220.

He was level 87 after beating Orochi.
He reached level 100 after 23795 3rd class dragonkins.
When he classed up, he was level 134.

Lv 176 3rd class gives about 58,958,301 exp.
Lv 200 Dragon gave 391,993,013 exp. (about 6.6x lv 176)
Some of the ~lv210 Dragons gave 1-1.2 billion exp. (~20x lv176)
Lv 221 Orochi gave 2,051,894,873 exp. (about 33x lv 176)
      Karrows gave
Lv 257 dude that was killed recently gave 23,820,227,405 exp

      Let’s take the 3rd class as a standard. Say 58mil exp = 1re.
      Going from 87 -> 100 took approx 23795re.

How much exp did he get total?
      44,755re + 800*6.6re + 100*20re + 333*33re = 63,024re

So it took him ~40,000re from lvl 100 -> lvl 134.
This is an extremely generous approximation, too… since he killed a lot of the highest level ones during the final battle, after he classed up, but I included them in anyways.
      23,795re to get from 87->100. (13 levels)
But less than 40,000re from 100->134. (34 levels)

More than double the levels. Less than double the exp.

      1. notfluent

Yeah that’s completely stupid, the system has it is noone should ever have a high level, I wonder where others lvl 200 found billion of stuff to kill to lvl up, moreover illan mostly kill higher lvl when other likely kill stuff at similar lvl or weaker.

      2. Musashi

The reason the author gave was that the experience required to class up for Yu Ilhan (go from 99 to 100) was far higher than the norm, due to his insanely op 3rd class. So most of the experience that it took him to level up to 100 was actually just exp needed to class up. I just wanted to mention that since it seems you forgot, good analysis though!

      3. TheUnnaturalDisaster

I have been keeping track as well, but I must say well done! Now I read that part again it said “After 2 years passed since their entry into this Abandoned World, their group brought disaster to this world. Excluding Flemir and two third class wolves that came here, everyone’s level averaged out at 130.” So excluding the 4th and 2 3rd classes that means 8 2nd classes became 3rd classes. Now I do see what you mean when you say. It took 45,988 dragonkin for Yu llHan to level up to 134, but I think you are over looking one important thing. The Time! That whole arc in Dareu only happened over 3 months. The last month was him training the Elves. It only took Yu llHan 2 MONTHS TO LEVEL UP THAT FAR!!!! It took this group 2 years plus. They needed 100,000 3rd class magic stones to open a gate back to Earth, and not every monster drops a magic stone. In the 2 years they probable had to kill over 500,000 3rd classes and maybe a few 4th class magic stones.

    2. Jin

Yeah, this chapter is disappointing for the reasons you mentioned. He could have come up with a less blatant method to close the gap. However, I’ve already accepted that to enjoy this story, you have to let some plot holes be.

    1. Kokiki

Because when she becomes a higher existence she will be the most beautiful person in the galaxy and the DDA higher ups are mens.
It was explained in the chapter before this

    2. armanak

because she is pretty and will probably be even more prettier when she becomes a higher class and also the leaders of the army of brilliant light and the destruction demon army are all male that’s why they want to acquire her as some sort of “trophy”, in the last chapter i think it was explained XD

    3. Jonathan Hurd

Simplist answer is because their bosses told them to do it, lol. She would also be the greatest Trophy Wife and it would be a giant middle finger to everyone else who tried to get her if you laid claim first.

  5. Laius

Fuck this shit, the moment they talked about how half a year had passed i was “don’t tell me they’re gonna explain everything by time move faster in the otherworld” seriously up until now i had no complain about this novel but now time skip seriously, one of the worst thing to put in a story.

    1. Jonathan Hurd

Its not like that is particularly new. I mean Time Zones not syncing up is what the whole Novel is based around, lol. Besides this is a completely different world and it was being artificially disconnected from other worlds with magic. That could have an effect on the world itself and the time kind of like what happened with Earth.

  6. frenzy85

They were there for more than 2 years…?
That means they got training time equal to over 30 uses of Ilhan’s most OP item. For free. All at once. Plus exp fodder included.

How nice of the Army of Brilliant Light to donate such a thing to Ymir & co.

  7. Sable

    Thanks for the chapter!

Because one OP Yu IlHan wasn’t enough, here we have IlHan 2.0 LOL

Nice way to upgrade the secondary characters so they can fight alongside the MC. Good Job!

    1. asdsads

Yaja: the same reason as to why Earth is 365 days but other planets might be shorter or higher, time flows different in that world, that in itself is not what worries everyone, what worries everyone is the plot armor that the author used to make these fodder character reach level 130+ by killing a few dozen 4th classes and fodder 2-3rd classes when the MC killed tens of thousands of 3 and thousands of 4th classes by himself and only achived 1% of what they did when it comes to levels, i mean the MC was alone without party distribution and still couldnt get to level 150.

      1. notfluent

The reason why Earth is 365 days and the difference in time flow is very unrelated, the first time dilation between world was introduced in this story as I recall and just that is already a low-level huge bullshit without counting the xp problem that is present in this story since the start.

  8. SpiralBaka

Only 10 days had passed on Earth
another kind of plot armor. without Yumir and Erta, the story would be boring. and the people on earth need to get stronger to face stronger monsters, so the author leveled up the leading person with this plot armor.

    thank you for the translation

  9. nobody

At first I was starting to worry that the title of MC was gonna be stolen from Yu llhan( I mean do the author like to power up EVERY possible character by the same method as llhan? and Why can they level so….smoothly(?) like they are on level farming trip?? and finally is the author really keeping up to his word of no harem for mc?BUT he wants mir to take that responsibility???)
But since the story was done in one chapter,It was reassuring and that Note from the author also help me to release from the overgrowing tension.

and last but not the least,Thanks for the Hard-work!!

  10. bladestorm91

I don’t mind a power leveling chapter for the side-characters, I don’t mind that they fought against 3rd class and then 4th class enemies. I don’t mind that all of them survive, no casualty. I don’t mind a lot of things that happened in this chapter.

But what I can’t forgive is the fact that they CLEARLY leveled faster than IlHan in a party of 8 goddamn people against 3rd/4th class NON-DRAGON ENEMIES. IlHan killed almost the same amount if you balance it all out, where did the rest of his exp go? Where did the party get all of that exp? WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK AUTHOR?

  11. Candied Skull

My best guess is that experience is also based on the difficulty of the fight, just like the knights from previous chapters. IlHan has too easy of a time killing, and therefore is slower at gaining EXP from killed creatures. There has to be at least some degree of level gain just related to suffering to make this work. That would also be why they all just average out at level 130, because the experience needed becomes too great, and the challenges too easy.
Guess IlHan has some competition, huh?

      1. Jonathan Hurd

Wtf, why the hell would he kill his own son?!?

Ilhan has already pretty clearly shown that he doesn’t attack those who don’t attack him. His son has shown to love and respect him. Also Yumir is contracted under Rule so he can’t attack Ilhan even if he wanted to at this point.

  12. Zero

Levels don’t mean shit in this novel. We already read countless times how Yu Ilhan can fight people way above his own level. And also, I think the people under the [Rule] skill get EXP boost but I don’t know why Kang MiRae and Na YuNa got boosted too.

    1. Jonathan Hurd

Well they did say 130 was Average. So even if Kang Mirae and Na YuNa lagged behind a little since Yumir and Ericia were already almost third classes I think they would balance out for the average.

  13. Arlos

Ho my god what the actual fuck? It actually ended as an even cheaper way to make them power up, way to make 1000 years of Hard work seems useless, and what the hell is this with their crazy level up rate compared to Ilhan? Author, what the fuck are you doing here? Trying to kill your story?

I knew it would end up like this the moment he sent those guys to another world, but it’s somehow even worse than I thought.
Here’s hoping he rectify this next chapter, otherwise I’m not sure I’ll keep reading this.

    1. Jonathan Hurd

I’m personally confused why Ilhan’s subordinates fighting in a group undoes a thousand years of effort on Ilhans part. I mean if they ended up away for two years and then mastered Black smithing, resting, language, all the martial arts, shooting, throwing, and everything else in two years. Then I would agree completely why did Yu Ilhan spend a thousand years when the rest can accomplish that in two years.

This is more to me the whole idiom of the lion pushing their kids off a cliff and letting them climb back up under their own power. The kids have been toughened by the experience sure but they are still far from their parent. Together sure they can almost touch some of Ilhan’s accomplishments now. They can finally be used as a fighting force for his majesty.

  14. humph

I knew it, a cheap deus ex machina to boost the power of the side characters. In practically every damn Xuanhuan oder Korean fantasy it is the same. Heck, even the appearance of thousands of 3rd level was horribly explained in the last chapter, and they were even merely supposed to be a distraction?!

I actually don’t mind if the mc directly or indirectly causes other chars to improve unnaturally faster. But the development needs to be consistent with past descriptions of the in-universe, and even more importantly, the author can’t just let side characters archive a similar stage as the main character at a similar pace or in a similar time frame without portraying struggle and circumstances on par with what the mc went through.

  15. Wondering

Wait don’t they share experience with the leader of the Rule skill?
I wonder that when they meet the Mc his level would be alot higher compared to Mc 2.0.

  16. Paps

Thanks for the chapter, HAHAHAHAHA they spent almost three years of hell while on earth it has only been 10 days. That migth be a choker!!!!!!!!!! Wonder how Ilhan will recieve them.

  17. Guradu Gilgida

    Look at the title :
    Not Me But My Son?!
The MC of this novel is not Yu Ilhan, but Yumir.
Yu Ilhan is just another ‘artifacts giving grandpa with super-power as plot armor for the MC’.

  18. Raufgar

    Thanks for the chapter~!

Ok, either the author has something up his sleeve, or this is a, rather sloppy, attempt to reduce the discrepancy between their levels and IllHan’s.

Assuming the author’s not sloppy, and all this has an explanation, then I’d have to say that the Akashic Records has a grudge against Illhan and is deliberately making everything Insane Level…

  19. rommie

I’m pretty sure it was mentioned early on that Ilhan takes more xp to level than the rest of the cast because of how op he was at level 1 without knowing anything about mana

  20. Tolack

I understand why some people are thinking that it was a cheap move by the author to power level his side characters in such a way, but ignoring every other point; it’d be pretty strange and tiring if only Ilhan ever dealt with Abandoned Worlds.

  21. Redryad

Wow the shear amount of hate for this chapter is amazing. People keep comparing it to ilhans 1000 but he didn’t level then so there is no comparison. That and it took them almost 3 years of power leveling to reach what ilhan did in months if not less. They had op gear and buffs why is it so hard to believe for some people?

    1. Paps

What I don’t guet is why so mutch hate, I mean it has been stated that Ilhan needs crazy requirements to level up his class, and it implais that at the same time the level of EXP that he needs to level up is not small, besides he is mutch more stronger that the people in his own level, the guy was killing 3rd and 4th class at his 2 nd class, so why people assume that his son and his group are even close to his level???

  22. Kuroshiki

Actually Ill Han class require more exp to level up, because his class is a very unique god type class.

And for Mir and the others under Ill Han ruler skill they got more exp from the effect of the ruling skill.

As for Yuna and Mirae, they have easier time to level up because they are actually have mediocore-high classes that require less exp than Ill Han unique god class.

  23. al103

    >The effect rises if an ally has a concealment-class ability.

Anybody else laughed or coughed after reading this? Because… lol

Damn, I was eating at that time…

  24. Wimopy

Guys. Come on. No need to take this that seriously. 2y9m is a huge amount of time and this is levels not stats/skills, not actual power.

At level 0, Yu IlHan had a perfect human body, basically most human knowledge and the foundation for a ton of maxed skills. Even his classes and the records on his equipment state he’s nearly at the level of gods.
Note that this is where his 1000 years went. Just because others can get to his level, that 1000 year gap will be there in skills and mentality.

In DnD terms, it’s level adjustment for OP races. (E.g. a race with +1 would need the same amount of exp to get to level 5 as a normal race would need for level 6)
This is usually done because the race has natural abilities and stats that make more powerful than its actual level.

    But mainly:
Exp and levels are almost always complete bull in novels and especially in light hearted ones like this.

    1. James

Well said. In terms of stats, he’s past the Demigod arena. Dragons may have easy growths but their known for getting their butts kicked in epic showdowns.

Elven may be long lived, but their inherently slothful.

Then you have the plain boring human, it’s only when times of inspiration come that we get off our A** and do something.

    2. Jonathan Hurd

I would also say look at the people Ilhan fights for a challenge, lol. They have to be a 100 levels higher than him for him to not one shot them at this point. Just because someone matches Illhan’s level doesn’t mean they are any where close to his power.

    1. Jonathan Hurd

Betcha he threw himself into blacksmithing gear for everyone just to try and not be consumed by his fear and worries for all of those stuck in the Abandoned World.

  25. Grim

The story only quoted how many magic stones were needed to leave the planet. They obviously killed far more than that because they leveled up. Whenever they level up they need magic stones for class change. At least humans and elves do.

They left after the world opened but they kept hunting all the way up to that point.

  26. triopsate

How are people just noticing how wack Ilhan’s exp bar is? If you stopped for a second to think about it, you would’ve realized how weird it was.

Think about it, Ilhan killed thousands of 4th class and tens of thousands of 3rd classes to get to the third class. If everyone followed that, it’d mean that for a country like the one Ilhan just came back from destroying to exist, it’d need to have killed millions of 4th classes and tens of millions of 3rd classes JUST for its army of 3rd classes to exist. As for the few 4th classes they had, that would require genocides on the level of countless worlds. Obviously this makes no sense so the only logical explaination is that Ilhan’s exp bar is way wack.

  27. mike

“And like that, a party comprised of: two humans, four wolves, one dragon, and one angel, started a worldwide hunt.” wait what about the 4 elves? They were there too right?

  28. Redmoon2

There’s too much hate in this chapter. Please note that when Ilhan was stuck on earth a thousand years, he did not power lvl rather he trained all his skills to the utter most limit. It is also one of the main factors besides his godlike concealment that allowed him to class jump and kill higher class opponents. Some commented that Yumir and co raised to 3rd class too fast, but I believe its not that fast at all if you compare to how fast Ilhan raised to class 3. I mean the guy spent like a few months to go from 1st class to 3rd class while Yumir and the others spent like what, almost 3 yrs?
I do believe that Yu Ilhan’s experience bar is definitely out of wack though. The guy killed so many 4th class opponents..mostly dragons and he’s still only at around 130 in lvl. One possible explanation could be that since his blazing reaper class is more unique and more powerful than other job classes it takes more exp and records to lvl up?

  29. sean

Okay, they were in this world for nearly 3 years fighting 3rd, 4th class monsters and they barely reached 3rd class.

Our MC has spent just a FEW MONTHS killing many more and he is already at 3rd class.

Also, Ihan spent 1000 years TRAINING, NOT FIGHTING powerful 3rd class, 4th class monsters.

I see NO PROBLEM with them reaching 3rd class. My only issue is how our MC levels up at a snail’s pace. I mean, he just killed a volcanic demon beast, got like 326 BILLION XP and the dude levels up 3 times.

I can only think back to his blazing reaper OP 3rd class and try to recall maybe slower xp? That’s about it.

  30. Seregosa

“Mir, we can go back, right?”
Yumir nodded confidently and said this. Perhaps Kang MiRae would never forget these words in her lifetime.
“It’s much easier compared to what my dad did! So we can do it!”

This was the best part in the entire chapter 😀 I just wish I could’ve seen more of their reactions and Mir telling them the whole story 😛

  31. Dlonelyman

It’s weird that Ilhan only reach level 140 even tho he wiped out a world full of dragon in solo while 8 pe.. individual if we excluded wolfs got to reach level 130 and there is still some monster remnant left that manage to run

  32. laneofmagic

So basically a chapter of cheap level up..

Yu Ilhan with all those overpowered stats had to go through hell just to acquire 3rd class, it doesn’t make sense this group did it so easily.
