Everyone Else is a Returnee – Chapter 64: I am also a Building Owner – 3

“Please make mine too!”
“That’s why I said too, go procure some holy stones.”
“Uuu, okay. That quest is hard though.”

Na YuNa obediently nodded her head and went into thought while biting her fingers like a kid. Then she said this.

“Wouldn’t it do as a deposit to give him 150 billion and a building?”
“There’s one that grandpa is saving up in gangnam reinforced area, but he would probably give it to me if I give him a kiss.”
“Ah, that’s definitely…”

Seeing the mentally distant conversation between Kang MiRae and Na YuNa, Yu IlHan just decided to stop thinking.

It was easy for him to think that they were different people to him. Returnees and a dropout. Quite clear, right? The fact that they were born with the biggest diamond spoons in their mouths, had a perfect outer appearance, and even had exceptional capabilities, made Yu IlHan frustrated, but he kept it down.

“You said you’ll make mine and HaJin-oppa’s too, right? Then I need to give you more.”
“That’s enough. I’m not trying to do business here.”
“It seems you are really well off. I thought my house was the best in Korea.”

The transaction ended on a clean note.
With a few calls from the two women in their twenties, a bank account with 150 billion won was made, and it was decided that he would gradually receive the building. He thought that this was the end, but Kang MiRae made a finisher while hugging the staff.

“Don’t worry about tax. We’ll take care of it.”
“……Is that so.”

Left hook, right hook, straight, and a perfect finish. It was more frustrating that she did all this unintentionally. Even Erta, who was watching, momentarily pulled on Yu IlHan’s hair strongly.

However, Yu IlHan just.
Thought that he should smile.

After the transaction was successful, Yu IlHan left and the big room only had Kang MiRae and Na YuNa left. Kang MIRae was still hugging the staff, and Na YuNa was looking in the direction that Yu IlHan had left.

Just then, Na YuNa suddenly asked.

“Do you like IlHan? Is it finally your first love?”
“No way.”

Kang MiRae immediately denied it.

“That person is my rival. I will definitely surpass him in the future.”
“So that’s iiit. Well, he’s really an interesting guy, but I do think we should watch him for the time being.”
“……You’re interested in that person?”
“A littlllle? I think he fulfills the requirement of his grandson-in-law. Um, just a little though!”

Kang MIRae nodded with a calm expression. Na YuNa started blowing on her hot coffee to drink with an innocent face, but Kang MiRae didn’t know what she was thinking.
Na YuNa was like this from the past. Nobody knew what was inside her heart.

‘But that person’s no good, YuNa.’

Kang MiRae thought,

She didn’t really lie to Na YuNa. Liking Yu IlHan? She believed that there was no affection between them since they just fought together twice and met with each other for business matters.

However, Yu IlHan had more talent than anyone else she had met until now. Despite the fact that he had sufficient, no, overflowing ability, he proceeded without stopping, did not get full of himself, and most importantly, his firmness and leisure could be seen from his actions.

Confidence that didn’t go overboard, ability befitting that confidence, and even charm. Only that was a man worthy of Kang MiRae’s conquer.

‘He’s a man fit for me. Perhaps, he’s bigger than what I can have.’

Kang MiRae wanted to acquire Yu IlHan. She couldn’t help but want to have him when she looked at him.
The first desire for possession for a person. People said blood cannot be faked, and it seemed that she was similar to Kang HaJin in regards to this.

However, she did not believe in love. Excluding the family-like relationship with Kang HaJin and Na YuNa, she thought that all other relationships between humans were that of trading.

As such, to acquire Yu IlHan, she needed to put herself on the line. Only then would it become a fair trade. If she thought that she was insufficient, then she would try to acquire him after bringing up her own value. Growing like how he wants, no, even more than that, so that he would accept her while nodding his head.
Never, could she let Na YuNa steal him.

Of course, she would never know that her greatest enemy was not a mere Na YuNa.

Author’s notes
1. He must have it good, he got a building after selling the weapon and the robe…..
2. Of course, this weapon is not about superiority complex stuff, so I didn’t give him a building for nothing.
3. I think you might be saying this in the comments in this chapter, so I’m saying this before hand, but… It’s not harem!!(T/N: This statement is retracted in the next chapter)

Translator’s notes
FYI, MC can make Traps of destruction better than the smiths in heaven (and faster), so there’s your answer to why he’s the best smith across all worlds’.

    I love this novel.

“Of course, she would never know that her greatest enemy was not a mere Na YuNa.”

Let me warn you now, Miss Kang — the road of competing with a higher existence is going to be tough for you… 😆

        1. orphellia0124

Lita and Erta route is constantly being persistent
No way can Kang MiRae route beat them that easily
Also IlHan is constantly blocking the others though it looks like he favors Lita more

          Reaction for Eternal Flame-chan:

        1. exseen

i agree with you there, shes the type to fight for what she wants in a brutally fair way. with her talent and skill though its very possible for her to ascend into a higher being along with ilan to truly compete with the angels until then she prob #1 candidate only because both of them are still mortal, but either way our bricktagonist wont notice that.

          1. Jonathan Hurd

Watching the mating ritual of the terminally socially awkward is going to be so worth it, lol. We have Yu Ilhan who can’t even comprehend someone would be romantically interested in him and MiRae who probably understands emotions less than even Yu Ilhan, lol.

I think Lita and Erta have a little step up in the contest since Ilhan already considers them close and personally cares about them. It is at the relationship of Family, but what he has with MiRae is more of a professional relationship. We have seen Yu Ilhan put his life on the line for Erta and I would imagine he wouldn’t hesitate to do the same for Lita. I’m not as sure he would do so for MiRae.

I also feel like it might actually be a disadvantage for YuNa and MiRae to be human since they invoke some pretty high jealousy inside Yu Ilhan. They have human friends, talent, beauty, and high class families. Basically the only reason they even notice him is that he worked for a thousand years otherwise they wouldn’t even notice he exists.

Compared to that I think he is much more comfortable with Erta and Lita who have looked after him. Lita especially looked after him for a thousand years at his side and guided him especially when he was a nobody. Erta has stood up for him and helped him out many times as well. They are also angels which is a higher existence so there has never been a reason to compare himself to them either.

  2. TsukiNoHono

Ahaha if this is a slightly dark story and this grill is a villain I’ll really call her a posesive b*tch lol haha

And one thing chamber-chii does this girls did not see the descriptions of the staff that sentence “best smith of all worlds” cauz I think their mistaking their mistery man lol haha~

And Mc like saying “I want to make a team” *in batman voice* haha

  3. hweirdo

    My comment was eaten 🙁

Oh well, I’ll just say. I find it interesting that Kang MiRae sees people as objects. However, she will never be able to possess Yu IlHan, because he has angels. I also bet he will become a higher existence.

    1. Jonathan Hurd

I think it is probably not so much that she sees people as objects as she sees things in term of value like a businessman. If she was going to treat people like objects I feel like she wouldn’t be so strict about fairness with others and herself. With her power and position she could take great advantage of other people and they wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

I think her mindset was setup to some degree as a way to distance people from her, but also as guidelines for interactions when surrounded by people you can’t completely trust. From what we have seen she seems to be a part of an extremely well off family. I could imagine she grew up in an environment where most people came trying to get something from her. Doing things by trade is a better way than just shutting people completely out. She doesn’t take unless she gives something of equal value. She will not be taken from if she doesn’t receive something of equal value. Cold but logical.

I feel like the cold outer layer is definitely a big part of her, but there is something underneath that as well. We saw a glimpse of it when she was talking excitedly about the Legendary Hero in the other world she visited. As they have also said she and Yu Ilhan haven’t really had many exchanges to get to know each other. Each of those exchanges were also transactions as well. They have trust in each others abilities and doing business, but Yu Ilhan is someone who builds walls to keep others out and Kang MiRae doesn’t seem much different. Give it time and we might get to know them each better.

“Yes, they sure did. -> “Yes, they sure are.
despite the fact that no other fact -> despite the fact that no other matter/event
succeed as as -> succeed as
emitting violent light. -> (Pretty sure you meant) emitting *violet* light.
“How is a value -> “How is the value
What should be the price of this staff?” -> What should the price of this staff be?”
She was an steel -> She was a steel
between man and women, -> between men and women, (unless you’re trying to say something here :P)
hands, your ability?” -> hands be your ability?”
“I became to know him somehow.” -> “I came to know him somehow.” (both times)

…Looks like people in the last chapter’s comments were right…
    Thanks for the chapter!

    1. bludvein

I think becoming a billionaire is completely logical in this case. As she said, 100 billion won(a little over 85 million USD) is practically giving it away compared to the items value. The stuff he makes are genuine superweapons in their new world, and there’s simply no other crafter even close to his level on Earth. He has a complete monopoly. If he actually cared about money he’d have countries in debt to him in no time.

  5. Jonathan Hurd

Thank you for the chapter Chamber. Seeing the Empress’ reaction to that stave was amazing. I honestly think the angels might of been right and she would have to propose if he brought out the Black Mages Robe, lol!

So the big question to me now becomes what Yu Ilhan is going to use this new building for (other than living in). I think Na YuNa might start trying to drop in randomly since she now knows his home address so that will probably be funny. The other big thing I would assume is going to happen is moving the forge and his workshop over to the new place.

Maybe he’ll start expanding his workshop which could be cool. I’m thinking a totally tricked out kitchen for one. Maybe he can also get an alchemy set and start doing things with the monster products he picks up…

  6. Kessna

    3. I think you might be saying this in the comments in this chapter, so I’m saying this before hand, but… It’s not harem!!(T/N: This statement is retracted in the next chapter) that really made me broke into laughter. thanks for the chapter

  7. synthous

Okay, everyone is talking about the obvious, obviously. Now, he’s apparently the best blacksmith. Fullstop. I assume he’s learned the periodic table, hundreds of alloys etc and he hasn’t even gotten into rune crafting etc. Unless for the magic part, it’s more intent and matching-ness.
Yet the mc acts like he’s 1000 years + old and is nonchalant about it. I just want someone to actually acknowledge what an achievement that is. His class isn’t even related to crafting (yet).

The weapon would be worth at least a few cities. On earth, thats probably about 100+ billion dollars, probably more due to the currency’s value going to plummet in future (second cataclysm etc) and the danger coming in the future. Giving it to that girl is more than she realises. It literally is him sharing the weight of the world on her shoulders. I believe the seriousness isn’t coming out because the MC is old and chill.

Also, I wish there were more blue boxes. Blue box ration to not: 10:4 is perfection.
Seriously though, explanations in the crafting would be great, it makes hard processes easy to digest but like in quite a few light novels, it takes away some essence.

  8. Jigoku Shounen

    3. I think you might be saying this in the comments in this chapter, so I’m saying this before hand, but… It’s not harem!!(T/N: This statement is retracted in the next chapter)

The Author should stop lying already.
    Thanks for the chapter.

  9. thediabolicalgenius

Thanks for the chapters. This is the only korean web novel I’m reading right now (since I’m tired of VMMO stories) and I’m enjoying it a lot.

“But Miraeee. You said you didn’t know Mr. Yu IlHan when I asked you.”

Can I ask what honorific she’s using for Yu IlHan? It shouldn’t be oppa since you didn’t bother to translate it when she used it on him before where he replied “I’m not your oppa”, so I’m curious what it is. Is it -ssi? With her carefree personality it would be out of character for her to use -nim on someone, even if he’s proven his superior ability. I’m curious since honorifics aren’t seen much in this work.

  10. celicasylphil

I dont get it , is the author ignorant or unaware or is he just too nationalistic ?
He always talks about a currency , not anything of material value . Yeah you could have quintillion or billions of dollars or wons but that would not mean anything if the people aren’t willing to exchange stuff for it . And , hell , those pieces of paper have no value other than being pieces of paper / plastic .
Exchange it for gold or other artifacts or gemstones or something that has actual value .

Blame it on me i think the author is definitely a simple minded fellow . heavier objects fall faster ? Has anyone seen that video of a feather and bowling ball fall in vacuum in same speed ? its simple here too , identical objects with just different masses wont fall / accelerate faster , at least on earth .

The story isn’t bad* actually pretty interesting * but the author’s research and worldview definitely lacking

    1. Rensarian

I think the author was just a bit confused about the heavier object thing. It’s true that they would fall at the same speed in a vacuum (although they were clearly not in a vacuum, let’s ignore that; it’s probably negligible). However, heavier objects still have more force than lighter objects. Which is super helpful in a projectile weapon. I feel like the author wanted to do something like that and just couldn’t explain it properly.

        1. Rensarian

Free falling for thousands of meters would not have negligible wind resistance for most objects of reasonable mass. That’s why terminal velocity is a thing (terminal velocity is, essentially, when the wind resistance, or drag, on an object finally cancels out the downward acceleration and thus prevents the object from speeding up any further in its free fall). But, I don’t think that is relevant in this novel, as his pile bunker certainly didn’t fall for thousands of meters (kilometers). Of course, that’s not to say that it is truly negligible either. It depends on how fast it’s going, I think (because drag increases with higher speeds), but I’m not going to do the math to figure that out.

          1. celicasylphil

FYI you (i.e. humans) reach terminal velocity under 70 meters . 1000s of meters is a bit of a stretch don’t you think ?
Also for those who are educated enough . That is if you’re reading this novel you should already know the concept of ” momentum ” , and a heavier object definitely will carry more force if it hits something , imagine a truck hitting you at 30meter per second or a bullet at 300 meter per second which will most likely kill you ? The truck . No doubt there.
I get the intended message but i was saying the information itself is wrong.
Also my main problem was the money thing not momentum .

          2. Rensarian

The money thing is the simplest answer of all, really. Money has value because other people value it. Right now, everyone on Earth still values the Korean won (or at least, it can be exchanged) so Yu Ilhan should be perfectly fine with it too. As for forms of currency valuable in the other worlds… Why should he care about that? He also cannot go those world’s just yet, so it is less than valuable to him if no one on Earth values it.

    2. Jonathan Hurd

From what the story has said Earths governments are still up and running. So if Yu Ilhan wants to exchange with normal people for food, services (such as building a workshop like he did last time), or information he needs a currency other people in Korea will accept. In regards to that there isn’t really a difference between gold or paper money. Gold/plastic/paper money are all completely useless if no one attributes value to them. Seems like a giant pain in the butt to convince the entire population to throw away all the money they currently own and start from ground zero.

They could trade in Artifacts since they have inherit value to themselves because they can be used as tools, but then you can say that about normal tools and or specialized labor. There is no real gain for trading in Artifacts as currency. They have different effects and are hard to construct. Their value would far out weigh getting a dinner at a grocery store or some some gas at a gas station. Using Artifacts exclusively for paying would be equivalent to if in America we threw away every currency under a hundred dollar bills. There would be no way to get change so we would have to buy in stupid bulk or devalue Artifacts to the point that they are less valuable than basic necessities.

The governments money system is already established why uproot the whole system by trying to bring in random jewels. You could just say that the Dollars or Won represents a certain amount of gold. That is what the Pound was about in Britain (i think don’t quote me on that one).

      1. celicasylphil

Since it seems you understand my argument there , yeah , money is valuable exactly because people consider it valuable .
Theres a great video about the value of bottlecaps in Fallout from The Game Theorists on youtube if you wish to check it out , it roughly explains the same stuff .

Also , my point exactly .What does back the korean won ? Presumably the government right ? Then what about the government right now which is facing so many troubles ? Im not saying to re-establish the whole currency system . Im just saying he’s naive to think that he would be able to exchange korean won for say potions he comes to get from some angel who opens up a shop or something .
A way better alternative would be a ‘favor’ . Sure , maybe that girl’s pride wont allow it but he’s powerful enough to force her right . Just something like ” With this now you owe me a favor .” and that would be a 100x times better than exchanging it for just money .
I wont be explaining how human favor would be way better than money since it would take a whole 2-3k words in itself but you get the idea .

  11. Fadiel

He’s the best blacksmith across the worlds, made a staff that is at least in the top 100 across the entire multiverse.

And he doesn’t even have a crafting class.

Or know how to use mana.

  12. Rensarian

    Thanks for the chapter~

Not harem? Excuse me…. but how do you plan on cleaning that up? Forget about the monsters, if this doesn’t become harem then you’ll have to save Earth from the world’s biggest cat-fight.

  13. ero9407

Hahhaha Emperes wants MC sorry to burst you bubble but that ain’t happening and forget about being stronger than him you can’t catch up to him now so when he gets mana that’s a %1000000 confirmation that your never gonna catch up.

  14. bludvein

I personally think Mirae is more interesting than the other options. Sure she’s kind of arrogant, but so were Lita and Erta at the beginning. She has good points to her pride, like refusing to take advantage of Il Han and wanting to improve herself to get recognized by him.

    1. Jonathan Hurd

Her straightforward personality is definitely a plus in my book. I feel her overall chances are probably a bit lower than the Angels since she doesn’t get to spend as much time with him or even understand all the layers to him yet. I mean if she knew he was the one making those weapons…, lol. I don’t think offering herself is going to work even if she tries her hardest for the next hundred years.

  15. James

Kang MiRae, beat the Eternal Flame, Etra, and Lita, then you’ll be worthy of Yu llHan’s hand in marriage. Till then, keep dreaming, business woman.

Thanks for the chapter. Loved it.

  16. Seregosa

However, Yu IlHan had more talent than anyone else she had met until now. Despite the fact that he had sufficient, no, overflowing ability, he proceeded without stopping, did not get full of himself, and most importantly, his firmness and leisure could be seen from his actions.

Well, if she knew that he’s around 1020 years old and didn’t really make it by talent but rather pure effort… What would she think? And well… She’d probably die of shock if she knew that she isn’t even seeing the top of the iceberg. She only believes he’s got good connections, high battle skills, level and mana control… while he’s actually the smith himself, got extreme knowledge and he aren’t even able to use mana yet… His connections are also far more amazing than what she knows 😛

  17. TamaSaga

“FYI, MC can make Traps of destruction better than the smiths in heaven (and faster), so there’s your answer to why he’s the best smith across all worlds’.”

You’re not referring to his romantic outlook when you’re saying *Traps of destruction*, right?

  18. Seregosa

However, she did not believe in love. Excluding the family-like relationship with Kang HaJin and Na YuNa, she thought that all other relationships between humans were that of trading.

Let’s see how long this ignorant(innocent?) girl can keep thinking that there’s no such thing as love. By the way the author is going, she’s going to be a part of the harem, or at least fall in love with him and try to pursue him since she already has some starting feelings of love.

I really wonder why there was no mention from her that it’s made by the best smith across all worlds, it’d be a pretty huge thing to mention, right? She just said it was an extremely good craftsman, but not that it’s the BEST… Somewhat disappointed in that part, I love when people get extra surprised because of stuff like that, haha.

  19. WirlWind

It feels like this is the point in writing the story that the author finally got sick of everyone asking and finally thought:

“Fuck it, since you’re bothering me so much about it, I’ll just make it a harem to spite you all! Muahahaha!”

*cackles while vacantly staring out the window*

  20. AlRedEye

The story is way above par for this genre and the translation is near flawless (comparatively)–so mad props to the author and translator, but I do have 1 big complaint, the notes at the end of the chapters!

I understand why the author/translator would think it’s a good thing to up the interaction between themselves and the readers, but it’s not worth it at the expense of such a fun story. (SPOILER ALERT!! ie like how MC gets stabbed later on, or thoughts on how the plot should progress) It’s not difficult to skim over them quickly to click the next chapter link, but it’s near impossible not to catch a few words here and there no matter how careful a guy is.

IDK if there’s a way to block them out with Reddit style tag brackets, but for now, the only solution is to scroll to the top of the page to click the next chapter link, which is silly. Maybe you can do something about this for future readers? I can’t imagine many people who wouldn’t agree.
